Text: Colossians 3:1(NKJV)
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
Congratulations to all as we made it to the Fifth month of our year of “Rest On All Sides” in this season of Landmark accomplishment.
We give all the glory to Our God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Having just remembered the greatest sacrifice of all times through the resurrection celebration of Jesus Christ, we all have the duty of “seeking the things above” where Christ is, and sitting at the right hand of God.
In his letter to the Christians in Colossae, Paul wants us to understand that our minds will determine our well being. The only source for a victorious new mind is where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Therefore, we are to set our minds on things above, not on earthly things.
To seek is not a passive act of wishing for something, but an active pursuit and longing for the realities of spiritual realm. We have been “raised with Christ” and “seated” with Him. If we are true Christians and heaven is our new location, we are physically on earth but participating in the spiritual realm. Then, we are called to live from that perspective; our decisions are to be informed by an eternal heavenly perspective rather than imperfect earthly ones.
According to Paul, we are to move from fornicating, uncleanliness, passion, evil desire and covetousness, anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language because non of these can be found above where Christ is and seated!!!
Righteousness, and peace ,and joy in the Holy Spirit are the things that are above (kingdom of God) – Romans 14:17 . Don’t you want to be part of the kingdom, common everybody!
